There are sixteen pictures in the range: gardens, water, golf, walks, reading and the open road. The eight on this page are grouped by how the retired person in your family spends their days. The rest of the range is sorted by format.
Pictures by what fills the week now
- The allotment or the garden. The Allotment is beans, dahlias and a weathered shed in high summer.
- Golf. The Nineteenth Fairway is a golfer walking a sunlit parkland fairway with long shadows, in green and gold.
- Fishing. Still Waters is a lone angler on a misty lake at dawn. The First Cast is a fly fisher mid-cast on a clear upland river.
- Reading, and staying in. The Reading Chair is an armchair, a pile of books and a steaming cup by a garden window.
- Walking. Mountain Morning looks out over layered blue mountains at sunrise from a heather ridge.
- Driving somewhere with no hurry. The Vintage Tourer is a classic open-top car at an overlook above a patchwork valley.
- The seaside. Harbour Morning is a fishing harbour at low tide, with colourful boats and lobster pots.
Christmas gifts for a retired dad
Pick by the hobby that has taken over the week, not by the job he left. If the shed has become the office, The Allotment or The Potting Shed. If it is the golf club, The Nineteenth Fairway. If he has gone quiet about it and you cannot tell, The Reading Chair suits most front rooms. Retirement gifts for dad covers the year he actually leaves.
Secret Santa for a retiring colleague
When someone's last day falls in December, the office Secret Santa and the leaving collection land in the same fortnight. Keep them apart: the collection buys the main present, and the Secret Santa can be small. An 11oz mug of one of these pictures fits most limits, and it can go home in the bag with the rest of the desk.
Stocking fillers for retirees
The mug and the 500ml bottle are the two formats that fit a stocking. The bottle suits someone whose retirement is mostly walking, fishing or the golf course, because it goes with them. An A4 poster of a picture rolls small enough too, and they can frame it in January.
If they retired this year
The name print sets their name, profession, years of service and workplace under a fixed Happy Retirement headline. That headline suits someone whose last day was this year. For a dad who retired a decade ago, one of the pictures will sit better on the wall. Retirement gifts for dad covers the name print in detail.
Formats
The pictures come as posters from A4 to 70x100 cm, framed posters at A3 or A2 in black or natural wood, canvas from 30x40 to 60x80 cm, framed canvas from 30x40 to 50x70 cm in black, dark wood or natural wood, metal from 30x40 to 50x70 cm and wood at 30x40 or 40x50 cm. Each picture also comes as an 11oz mug or a 500ml bottle. Framed art or canvas explains the difference between the two wall finishes.
